Christmas in Seattle

Addie
Sophie
We headed to Seattle once again for Christmas.  This time we decided to drive.  I had been nerves about what the weather was going to be like, but we couldn't have asked for better weather.  On Wednesday night we drove to Boise and stayed the night at a hotel.  It was nice to get some driving out of the way and sleep in for a bit.  On Thursday was got back on the road and into Seattle just in time for our favorite dinner Fuji Teriyaki!  We had been worried how Addie would do on such a long car ride.  Her track record for been in the car was terrible to say the least, but she was excellent.  Sophie, who is always awesome, was fabulous too.

It is always fun to be at my parents house for Christmas, even though there were a few families missing.  We did the usual eating delicious food, sing songs and catch up with family.  This year for the first time that I can remember, we did not do a family special person exchange after the party.  It was kind of sad actually.  It is hard to see traditions change, but good to see families grow too.

Christmas morning was fun.  Sophie got just what she asked for a "cowboy hat for girls."  It took some convincing that it was called a cowgirl hat. Beside the hat she got a million other toys.  I guess that is what happens when you are the oldest of only 2 grandchildren or nieces for that matter.  Her uncles' totally spoiled her and Addie too.

Later that day we when to Mike's brother's house in Enumclaw and visited with his family.  We don't see them as often, so it was fun to catch up.  The part that Sophie liked the best was playing with her cousins Arick and Lily.  They are good at playing and Sophie just had a blast.

One of the other reasons we came to Seattle was to be with Erik as he went through the temple the first time.  It was a really neat experience and the first time Mike and I had been through a session there.

You can really see how long Sophie's hair has gotten.  The only hair cut she has ever had was a few days before her second birthday.  She likes her Rapunzel hair.

Mike and I on the back porch of Daryl and Rachel's new house.  Amazing is all I have to say.
We went to Red Lobster with the family for Erik's 19th birthday.
It might look like Sophie is trying to get away from her "Grandma Great" as she calls her, but she loves grandma great a lot.  Sophie likes to skype and talk with her.

I love this face!!
