Today is Mike's 28th Birthday. He is growing up so fast. We got to go out to dinner last night with friends and family to celebrate. And today Ryan and Tara came over and I made a special breakfast for everyone. Then Mike got to play his PS3 all day. He said that it was a great birthday. It was also Rex and Suzy's 40th anniversary yesterday and Daniel and Sara's 1st anniversary tomorrow.
Tara has inspired me to dig into crafting more. This last week's project was making curtains for the master bedroom. I had originally bought just 2 curtain panels from Ikea and was going to put one on each window because they are $30 per pair. Then Tara and I were at Ross and found a King Duvet cover for $12. With the cover we were able to make four panels and I was able to return the ones to Ikea that I had not gotten around to opening, let alone hanging. Since I returned the curtains, I decided to buy a pack of sheers for $10 to add to the middle. So for $22 I dressed two windows. Here is the final result.

I didn't get a good two week photo of Sophie, but day 16 pictures came out good. Also, Tara has some cute pictures of Sophie on her blog too. Sophie is the joy of our lives and we have a blast hanging out with her everyday. We are getting settled into our house and really like the area that we are in. Plus our rent includes landscaping every week, which is super nice to not worry about. Sophie has her first doctors appointment tomorrow so we can see how big she is getting. More updates later!!

The first weeks with Sophie have been so much fun. We have loved cuddling and playing with her. She changes everyday and is filling out. She was having some trouble eating at first, but now she has caught on and is eating well. She loves to be awake and have her eyes brightly open. She has a very calm temperament and is easy to sooth.
