27 years

It was my birthday last Thursday and it was a nice one. Mike plan a dinner with some family at one of my favorite restaurant Mimi's Cafe. It was super delish! Thanks for making it such a nice day babe!

What do you think that Sophie is thinking about in this shot?

If this is not girly…

I don’t know what is. Sophie was playing at her cousin’s house and saw her cousin Mia put on a tutu, so of course Sophie needed one too. I love this first shot because not only is wearing the tutu, but she has a jump rope and pigtails!

Sophie also was enjoying making some pretend food.

This is Mia trying to find “the cool song” on the CD player. There were three disks and she went through song by song until she found “the cool song.” I don’t think she really knew which is was, but she was looking for it anyway.

Benji also got in on the dress up action.

Coloring and Chipmunk Cheeks

I am just catching up posting because thing have been crazy busy. This is from Nov. 24th. Sophie has started to enjoy coloring. She only is interested for about 5 minutes at a time and there has been some biting/eating of crayon. Here she is coloring and also eating (food not crayons.) Sophie also will hold food in her month for as long as an hour. She puts it all in at one time and then will leave it there until she either eats it or spits it out.

Sophie's First Snowy Playtime

Back on the 6th we got our first big snow of the season. (Since then we have gotten a lot more!)
Living on a large corner lot we have a lot of area to shovel. It wasn't too bad, it took Mike and I about 20 minutes to do it all including our driveway and stairs. Even with all the snow, it turned out to be a nice day so we decided to take Sophie out to play. This was the first time she really has played in the snow. Last year she was too little to enjoy it. After bundling up, we headed out. I think that she really liked it. She just went right for it. I think she was a little annoyed that she kept falling over, but other then that she was having a good time. Here are a few shots from our outing.

Daddy is pull the sled. I rode with her first, but she got the hang of it quick and I think it was her favorite part of the snow.

These two shot (above and below) I thought were really cute.

This was right before we came in. She was done.

Look what I made...

I have been getting inspired by all of Sara's totally cute crafts. I took leftover 2x4 pieces, sanded the edges, painted them black, printed letters on to scrapbook paper and cut them to size. It took me just over an hour to do the whole thing.

I love it!

Tabletop and Curlers

Sophie has learned how to climb onto the table!!!! I suppose it was bound to happen, I was just hoping that it wouldn't. Oh well, I guess we will just have to keep a closer eye in her.

Sophie is a total girly-girl. She even likes to put curlers in her hair. (She also like to play in the pantry)

Look how much hair she has. It is a little out of control, but I love it that way!

Thank you

Right now Sophie, Daddy and I have just finished dinner (Taco Bell for Mike and myself and Cheerios for Sophie). Sophie of course must feed herself. She is getting better but still ends up with much of it down her front and on her lap.

(This is a shot of Sophie playing peek-a-boo right after uncovering her eyes)
So here is something new and super cute. About a week ago Sophie started saying "Thank you mama" or daddy, grandma or grandpa. It is the cutest thing. If you hand her something or help her she will say it. She has also started to combined the names to other phrases like "bye-bye daddy" or "get you grandpa." Sophie you are such a smart girl.

5th Annual Beaird Halloween

It was once again time to have the annual Beaird Halloween party. This year was the 5th year that we have been throwing this party. It has been so fun over the years to think of costumes and party game. We love having are friends and family over and see their creativity too. This year we decided to be a family of zombies. It was really fun dressing up and putting the make up on Sophie. Here are some shots from tonight's party.

Little Listening Ear

This weekend my mom came to visit. We didn't really do much, just hung out and shopped. I think that those are the best visits. I love having nothing that has to be done. On Saturday mom and I were talking and I said, "let me get the brush to do Sophie's hair before we leave." Well, when I said that Sophie was standing right next to me and must have heard what I said. When I came back with supplies in hand, she also came walking back with her own hair brush and brushing her hair. She went into her things and got her brush and came back! I could believe it. It is not like I directed it to Sophie or even repeated myself. I am so blown away every time she does something so unexpected.

Here are some pictures from Gardener Village, a cute crafty shopping area here in Utah.
