Happy Birthday Cowgirl Style

It is so fun to have all of our girls' birthdays in July.  We did a big BBQ and birthday party again.  This year we rented a PONY! What little girl doesn't want a pony at her birthday party.  Andy the pony was great and the kids had a blast with her.  We also couldn't have a summer birthday without some water! Pools, tubs and water guns!

Aunt Tara, Brandt and Mia enjoying a little time in the pool
Such a sweet pic of Tayen and her daddy.  Tayne couldn't get enough of the pony.  She spent most of the party hanging out with Andy.
Sophia looking tough with her water gun.
Happy Birthday Girls!
I hope they like having birthday parties together for years to come.
It is so fun for them and the family.
This picture is Sophia reenacting blowing out the candles because she did it too fast and I didn't get the picture.  I think she did a good job pretending.

Penelope's 5 weeks old

Little Penelle (or Nelope or Penny or something we haven't decided on yet) is doing great.  She has been a great sleeper which everyone can appreciate.  She is not a huge fan of the car, but tolerates it most of the time.  Last night she slept from 9pm to 6am!

Penelope has been smiling and starting to coo.  She is especially happy in the morning, so we lay in bed and make funny noises and we get her to smile at us.  Love this girl!  She is growing well.  At her two week appointment she was 8 lbs 7 oz and 20" long.

Sophia and Adeline can't get enough of Penelope.  To get Sophia out of bed in the morning for school, I tell her that Penelope is awake and she jumps up to come and see her.  As for Adeline, I have to tell her a hundred times a day to stop touching the baby. She then says, "but mom, she is just sooo cute!"
Penelope is our first binky baby or as Addie calls is a "pinky"
Penelope was trying to eat Addie the other day and Addie called her a zombie baby.
Mom captured a smile.

So sweet to see bonding with daddy.

Welcome Penelope Elsa Beaird

Penelope Elsa Beaird born July 14th at 9:20pm at McKay Dee Hospital.  She was 7lbs 11oz and 19.5" long and perfect! Penelope has been an angel thus far.  She sleeps good and was nursing well right from the start.  We feel so blessed to have this new life in our family and the girls can't get enough of her.  Adeline calls her "Nelope" and wants to hold and touch her constantly.  Sophia loves her new baby sister and has been a big help for mommy. Even in the few days she has been here with us, it feels like she was always here.

Love you Penelope!

Adeline, what have you been up to?

I don't have near as many post about Adeline as Sophia, but such is the life of a second child. Sorry in advance to child #3, I hear it only gets worse. Fortunately we have done lots of things, just not taken the time to write them down. So here are some things about Adeline:

November 27, 2013 - She was potty trained and has done great ever since.  She hardly ever has an accident and stays dry at night too.

December 3, 2013 - She was playing in the bathroom with a bottle of shaving cream and covered herself from head to toe.

December 16, 2013 - Such a grown up little girl. She was so excited all day about her "beautiful pigtails." She asked if her cousins were coming over so she could show them her beautiful hair.
December 2013 - Adeline talks soooo much.  Not just words but full stories and emotions.  She is very dramatic when she tells (or reenacts) a story. She has a great memory too.

February 1, 2014 - We visited an elk reserve in Cashe Valley.  She thought all the elk were camels.  She would say, I don't like those dirt camels pooing all over.

February 3, 2014 -  She can get up at night and good potty by herself.

February 7, 2014 - Adeline is talking to her "friend" in the mirror. She is trying to pull her out of the mirror. (She knows she is being funny.) Sophie is trying to explain to her that there is only one Adeline. Sophie said "I guess you are too young to understand."

February 8, 2014 - Took her first train ride from Farmington to Provo to play with her Olson cousins.

March 1, 2014 - Went tubing at Solider Hollow with Uncle Scott and Erik, Grandma and Grandpa Olson, and our family.  She liked the tubing but her favorite part was riding in the tube up the tow rope.  At the top of the tow she said, I want to do it again!

April 2014 - Addie is an iPad junkie. The other night she got up in the middle of the night, found the iPad and a sucker, then went back to bed to play games and watch Netflix.

April 18, 2014 - She got her ears pierced.  She had been asking for weeks to get earrings and we decided that she was ready.  We were right, she did awesome! Not even one tear. When they showed her the mirror she giggle and squealed from joy.

Sophie's First Soccer Game

August 15th was Sophie's first soccer game. She has been very excited to play and to have Mike be the coach.  After practicing for a while the game was about to begin. The girls lined up on the field with the coaches and refs.  Suddenly Sophie comes running off the field screaming like someone had cut off her arm. I make eye contact with her panicked face and she started to run from me too.  I go chasing after her and then the ref comes chasing after both of us.  I catch up with Sophie just as the ref catches up with us. I hear the ref say, "I'm sorry it's ok, you don't need to take your earrings out!" REALLY, earrings? Oh boy, I tried not to laugh as I calmed her down.  I told her that she could wear them for tonight but that for next week she would need to take them out.

Sophie has always been a little scared that if I take out her earring that it will hurt like when she had them pierced the first time.  She gets freaked out if I even touch or look at them too closely.  It has been almost 2 years since she had them pierced.

After the game we got in the car and Sophie realized that she has lost one of her earrings.  She says to us, it came out and didn't even hurt. We then proceeded to Claire's were she picked out new earrings. She was nerves as I switched out her earrings and asked if I would need to make a new hole for the replacement ones.  I reassured she that it would be the same hole and wouldn't hurt.  After she said I know you told me before that it didn't hurt to change my earrings but sometimes I don't listen to you.

Despite all the drama, Sophie's game went really well and she had a great time! Plus she is really fast. We are excited to see her grow and learn more.

Addie wanted in on the action.  Anything Sophie is doing, Addie want to do too.  The funny thing was Addie is AWESOME.  She was dribbling the ball around the girls and kicking it into the goal.  She can't play until next fall, but I know she will kick some butt. Naturally Talented.
